I'm Ren Wong, a multimedia artist who is intrigued by the documentative aspect inherent in all art-- a little piece of subjectivity stains all works like fingerprints. It gives away the context and profile behind the artist, plus an uninvited opportunity for reflection in all parties. Yet, because of this, it undeniably compels the viewer all the more.The pursuit of my work is threefold: to chronicle what lies behind the art, artist, and the murky world we live in.

What are the tutoring sessions like?

- The tutoring sessions will be held online via Discord voice call with two-way live screensharing so you can see my screen, and I can see yours. To reduce internet lag or delays, front cameras won't be used.- Each session will be 2 hours long. This gives us enough time to cover discussions about what project you're working on, lesson and technique explanations, practical activity, and to implement feedback throughout.- Set your own vibe for the sessions: Wanna keep it relaxed and chitchat or work quietly and focus on the lesson? Whatever feels most comfortable and suitable, it's totally up to you!- Total beginner? Don't worry, we can start from the basics and ease your way in! Many of my students also started from square one and slowly built up their skills over time. You'll surprise yourself by how quickly everything clicks into place for you once we cover the basics.

How does it work?

1. Fees & rates
Each 2-hour Discord tutoring session is AU$100.2. Choose your schedule
Ongoing tutoring consists of weekly 2-hour sessions, for as long as you find it helpful. Choose a day and time that works best for you and book your spot through the calendar below.3. Confirmation & payment
After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Tutoring Agreement & Terms of Service, payment information, and invoice.4. Secure your weekly spot
Once payment for your first session is received, your booking will be confirmed and your weekly timeslot will be reserved for you. My Discord user information will be emailed to you, and we will make sure everything is set up correctly before the scheduled session.5. Weekly billing
After your initial payment, weekly payments will be made in advance via invoice for each upcoming tutoring session.6. When you're ready to finish
Taking a break? Ready to finish? Simply give me at least 1 week's notice before your next scheduled session to wrap up.

Operating from this framework, I explore and grapple with contradiction and imperfection, finding ways to commemorate the wonderfully grotesque incongruities.My work primarily revolves around narrative, with individuals serving as representational subjects for storytelling. This creates an opportunity for investigation in all directions, for both the viewer and the artist.Trained in classical painting and art history, the tried-and-true techniques of the old masters informs my process. While my artistic practice draws from influences with no bounds—ranging anywhere from pop culture media, all the way to the morbidly captivating spirit of the Expressionist movement.

It has really made me realize just how deeply personal artmaking can be—and in many ways, even magical.
